The Triumph TR7 was "the shape of things to come", and indeed it helped spur a flood of wedge shaped sports cars in the '70's and '80's. Powered by a torquey slant 4 cylinder engine positioned behind the front axle, that endows the car with excellent balance and predictable, confidence inspiring handling. Independent front and 4-link rear suspension, front disc/rear drum power assisted brakes and a 5-speed manual transmission combined with a well thought out interior make for a very rewarding driver's car. This 1979 example is a true survivor that benefits from its Arizona ownership history. There is no rust or corrosion concern on this car. It has been mechanically refreshed and the seats reupholstered but otherwise is in unrestored condition. It starts right up, has good power; shifts, steers and stops as it should. It has its share of cosmetic blemishes, but once seated in its very tidy interior and behind the wheel those are all forgotten. Everything with the exception of the removed air conditioning system is in working order. On the road the car handles like a go cart. Its a very driver-centric car suitable for tall people. The engine makes great sounds and in 5th gear has no issues keeping up with modern interstate traffic, running cool in the Texas heat. The controls are all right where they need to be; very natural. Its a comfortable car that is up for long stretches of road. It will however, in the long tradition of British sports cars drip some oil after a hard days work. This car is good to go. I have a long list of what was refreshed and list of spares that are included. I can provide that along with a video of the car driving to prospective buyers. This hard to find TR7 is located in Rowlett, Texas and is offered as is where is. Scammers, low ballers and sales assistants need not apply. If you are reading this then the car is available for sale. Call, text or reply.
