Arguably the most recognized vehicle ever produced, universally adored and not just by off-roaders and car enthusiasts, but by old war veterans, cowboys, teeny-boppers, rednecks, yuppies, country girls, sorority sisters, little kids and most dogs. The Jeep is rugged, cute, serious, fun, classic and eternal. Jeep is not just a brand, its a whole category; a lifestyle. This 1979 CJ5 has certainly lived many lives. It was enjoying retirement on a quiet deer lease in central Texas where it was only occasionally loaded up, fired up and driven maybe a few miles at a stretch. If it was lucky it might get a nice big buck draped over its hood or serve as a safe platform to take down a big hog. But as eventually happens, some city slicker decided it was time to clean it up and make it pretty again. That was 2015. $27,000 dollars and 18 months later and it was moved to a lake house where you guessed it, it sits and waits to be loaded up, fired up and driven a few miles at a stretch. So now its reluctantly being put up for sale where hopefully it can spend some time getting some quality miles logged. It's not perfect but it is a handsome rig with a strong running 304 cubic inch V8 sprinkled with performance goodies and sending its power to all four wheels through a three speed transmission and two speed transfer case. Power steering and brakes make it easy to push a massive set of 35" BF Goodrich mudders around on locking front hubs. The CJ5 has the shortest wheelbase of all Jeeps and it can be a handful for the uninitiated especially on a 3 inch body lift. Some might question why a vehicle like this needs a big V8 engine, well considering where a Jeep is capable of taking you a powerful motor can be your friend when its time to get you out of sticky situations. The interior on this Jeep is nice and fresh with high back bucket seats, three point seatbelts, locking console and a new soft top with removable soft doors. The floors and interior surfaces have been rhino coated. Aggressive front bumper and sharp looking Mickey Thompson wheels give this Jeep a stout stance that looks the part in Bad-Boy Blue.
