Description

Astonishingly well preserved example of the classic Fiat 124 Spider, this a 1976 model powered by a twin cam 1800 cc motor fronting a 5-speed manual transmission. Other than reupholstered front seats this car is unrestored and believed to be just 48,000 original miles. It has benefitted from routine maintenance and most recently a comprehensive rebuild of the front end. New brakes and tires were also just fitted. Ownership history in North Texas since new; zero rust and no signs of accident or repair. Paint gauge indicates the seldom seen white finish is original. Stripes were likely a dealer install. A new black vinyl top is fitted. This car includes service records, owners manual and its complete factory tool kit and matching spare. This Fiat runs and drives perfectly. It starts up easy, has good power, shifts smoothly though all five gears and reverse, steers and stops predictably. All gauges with the exception of the clock are working properly. Heat, defroster and blower fully functional. All lights including interior lamps in working order. Unlike those dowdy British contemporaries the sexy Fiat has a sophisticated Lampredi double overhead cam engine that gives it that distinctly Italian sound, four wheel disc brakes and a 5-speed transmission that makes it suitable for modern interstate travel. The folding top is a masterpiece in simplicity that requires nothing more than tossing it over your shoulder. This stylish Italian sports car was designed by Tom Tjaarda during his time at Pininfarina. Fiat's reputation for poor reliability is undeserved. These are great cars that are easy to own and operate. Parts are readily available and a vibrant club scene reflects the pride that owning one of these classic Italian sorts cars delivers. And Fiats are always welcome at the Ferrari meets! Located in Rowlett, Texas this classic Fiat Spider is offered for sale as is where is with a clean Texas title.
