Description

Wow, you will love this THING! Up for sale is a very cool 1974 VW THING. Its a rare THING indeed, a four door convertible! You don't see THINGS like that everyday. The Germans designed this THING back in World War Two for general purpose transportation for military personnel along the same lines as the original Army Jeep. The THING about THINGS is they are so ugly they are cute, sort of. Another THING about it is that it is a blast to drive. This THING has a souped up motor that makes this THING almost fast. And this THING has been thoroughly sorted mechanically with new brakes, shocks and bushings. The over sized wheels and all terrain tires give this THING an aggressive stance and another THING, the rear mounted engine gives this THING excellent off road traction, if that's your THING. This THING shifts nicely through all four gears and doesn't pop out of reverse like so many of these THINGS. With the built up motor this THING cruises at 70 without straining and with the fresh suspension parts and a rebuilt steering box the THING tracks straight and handles true, some THING you might not expect of a THING. What has not been restored is this THING'S body, the paint is kind of faded on the THING and it has its shares of dings and scratches. But there isn't any rust on it and that makes this THING a better THING than any THING that is rusted. All this gives it that rat rod THING, which is a popular THING these days. This THING has a roll bar and three point seat belts up front that provides the occupants of the THING a safer ride than a THING with only lap belts. The interior on the THING is in great shape and all the gauges and lights work as they should on the THING. The THING's top is pretty much toast. I still have it but I took it off because every time you mess with the THING it rips and tears. The folding top frame on this THING is in fine condition and a new top can be purchased and installed professionally on the THING for about $450. The THING also comes with its original side curtain windows but they too will need to be restored before you put them on this THING because the THING is, is that the once clear plastic windows are now as far from clear as the THINGS can get. The THING to consider about the top is that I have never driven this THING with the top up and never will. The darn THING is a four door convertible for Pete's sake (who is Pete?); wind in the hair, sun in your face, everyone waving and giving thumbs up to you in your THING. If you don't like attention then don't even THING about buying this THING So finally, here is the THING; I have had my fun in the THING and am ready for the next guy or gal to experience what this THING is all about. Another THING, these THINGS are becoming very desirable to stuck up snobby collectors who are willing to pay a lot of dough for these silly THINGS. So, if you buy the THING, its like an investment. You can probably read about that in the book THING and Grow Rich. This THING is located in Rockwall,Texas and is offered as is where is. If the ad is up this THING is for sale. Please no low ball offers or scammers because I really don't like those THINGS. Call, text or reply if you want to talk about this THING.
