Description

Welcome to the world of excess. There were few things that announced a person had "arrived" than this over the top, drop top Eldorado. At close to 19 feet long and 6.5 feet wide the list of convertibles made before or since that could seat six adults in such opulence is a short one. The seventh generation Cadillac Eldorado was launched in 1971 and ran through 1978. The 1973 model, like this convertible, was the official pace car of the 1973 Indianapolis 500, an apropos collaboration with the "greatest spectacle on Earth". With its 10 foot wheelbase, massive 500 cubic inch engine and legendary front wheel drive dynamics, the idea of piloting this land yacht around the two and a half mile oval at 100+ mph arouses the senses. Equally at home on the boulevard and back country roads or cruising top up or down on the open road, these cars will flat eat up the miles, and the gasoline. Whatever it does, it does it in style and comfort. Features like fully automatic climate control, power seats, courtesy lighting, four speaker hi fidelity sound systems, yards of leather and deep pile carpeting and a trunk big enough to swallow a few steamer cases ensured its owner's and occupants were firmly seated in the lap of luxury. This example, finished in Cotillion White and Scarlett Red leather presents extremely well. Its not perfect, the body and interior both have a few minor imperfections but overall its about as fine a driver quality condition car as you will find. Mechanically, the car has received extensive refresh; documented service on the transmission and engine. Brakes, suspension and steering are all good to go. In fact this Eldorado drives out superbly; it doesn't drift or pull under acceleration or hard braking; shifting smoothly and moving this behemoth down the road quickly when you put your foot in it. It rolls straight down the road with one finger on the wheel and yes, it "floats" like a '70s Caddy should. All of the lights and instrumentation are in working order. The AC blows cold, heat hot. The power seats, windows and top all move up and down completely. The top is in great fresh and clean condition, fits well and keeps everything nice and dry. Tires are only a few years old. This car has no sign of collision and shows no rust or corrosion issues, Its been a southern car its whole life. Original spare, tools, owners manual, and recent service records accompany the sale. Clear Texas title. The classic Cadillac Eldorado has always been the choice of enthusiasts and collectors. There is something eternal about these cars. Buy it, take care of it and enjoy it and you will never lose money on it. This Eldorado is located in Rockwall, Texas and is offered as is, where is. Texas residents may be subject to tax and fees. Low ballers, scammers and sales assistants need not apply. Trades considered; no bikes, boats or planes please. Call, text or reply.
