Description

This classic Chevy truck benefits from extensive mechanical modifications to give it the chops to take on daily driver duty in the modern world. Starting with a downtrodden 1955 3100 1/2 ton pickup and a wrecked 1999 Camaro Z/28, combined with vision, skill, time and money the result is what is now, in the vernacular of car guys referred to as a restomod. Equipped with an LS1 5.7 liter V8 and 4L60E 4-speed overdrive transmission and associated electronics from the Camaro, an off the shelf Mustang II style front end with A-arm coil over suspension, power rack and pinion steering and disc brakes as well as a rear disc brake conversion this '50's classic has been transported into the 21st century. Inside the cabin has updated instrumentation, tilt steering wheel, Lokar shifter, seats from a late model Ford, power windows, Alpine Bluetooth sound system, cruise control and ice cold AC. Other than a handsome set of staggered 17" Torque Thrust wheels and LED lighting the outside of the truck is all '55 Chevy. Purchased in June 2003 for $2,000 that owner commenced with a documented six plus year restoration project completed in November 2009. The car was then sold to the most recent owner in 2015. Under new ownership the truck found its daily driver groove; commuting to work, picking up loads at Home Depot and crossing the country with regularity. Along the way it has earned a few dings and scratches but nothing to detract from its handsome presence. The truck received regular maintenance and repair as needed. Most recently the truck had been parked due to the owner's declining vision affecting his ability to legally drive. Hence the decision to sell. The truck fires right up, runs, drives, steers and stops like a late model circa 2000 truck. It packs in some critical modern conveniences. It is the embodiment of the efforts that coined the term restomod. This '55 Chevy truck is located in Rowlett, Texas and offered as is where is with a clean Texas title. Low ballers. scammer and sales assistants need not apply. If the ad is up the truck is available.
